Weltevreden Estate Transitions to a Cashless Experience from 1 April

At Weltevreden Estate, we are always looking for ways to enhance the experience of our guests — making every visit smoother, safer, and more enjoyable.

From 1 April, Weltevreden will officially transition to a fully cashless environment across the estate.

Why the Change?

This move forms part of our ongoing commitment to modernise our operations while prioritising convenience and security for both our guests and our team.

  • Speed up service across all touchpoints, from tastings to dining
  • Enhance safety and security by reducing the handling of cash
  • Streamline transactions, making your experience more seamless
  • Align with global hospitality trends toward digital-first service

What This Means for You

From 1 April, all payments on the estate — including the restaurant, wine tastings, accommodation, and retail — will be processed via:

  • Credit and debit cards
  • Contactless payments (tap-to-pay)
  • Mobile payment options (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)

Cash payments will no longer be accepted from this date.

A Seamless Estate Experience

Whether you’re joining us for a long lunch, a wine tasting, or a weekend stay, this change allows us to focus even more on what truly matters — delivering a refined, effortless, and memorable experience at Weltevreden.

We understand that changes like this may take a moment to adjust to, and our team will be on hand to assist wherever needed.

We look forward to welcoming you to a more seamless Weltevreden.
